(A morning half day session finishes at 1pm and an
afternoon half day session commences at 1pm.)
HOLIDAY CLOSURE
Nurseries close on all Bank Holidays and
between 24th December (from 1pm) and 1st
January inclusive.
We pride ourselves on high quality early years childcare and strive to enable access to this as effective as possible for par ents.
Please see below a guide to what accessing a place at Woodlands Day Nursery will look like from April 1st, 2026, at its weekly cost.
We appreciate not all bookings may be represented in the examples below. Please do contact the finance team if you have any
queries about your specific booking.
All fees must be paid in advance and by the first day of the month.
Fees are annualised based on your current booking to enable parents to budget for fees each month. This is done by taking your
weekly fees and multiplying them by 51 weeks that the nursery is open and dividing them by 12 months. Any mid -month changes
will revert to a sessional charge and be annualised from the next full month.
Extra sessions, or any other items, will appear on your monthly invoice, in arrears, and will be taken by the next direct debit
payment.
A completed direct debit mandate form must be returned to nursery to enable payment by this method. Our direct debit provider
will notify you when the direct debit has been set up. Any invoices received prior to this notification should be paid by an
alternative method.
Fees are normally reviewed annually, effective from April 1st.
No holiday or illness discount is given.
Fees exclude nappies and formula milk which should be provided by parents.
A discount of 10% is given for registered siblings and applied to the eldest child only. If fees are reduced by any funding
entitlements, the discount is applied to the lower fee.
Continued late payments may result in a £20 charge being applied to your nursery account.
Funding and help with childcare costs.
There are different types of financial support you may be able to receive to help you with the costs of your childcare and the
type of help you can receive will depend on your individual circumstances.
Payment of nursery fees can be made by Tax-Free Childcare. If you get Tax-Free Childcare, you’ll set up an online childcare
account for your child. For every £8 you pay into this account, the government will pay in £2 to use to pay your provider.
You can get Tax-Free Childcare at the same time as 15- or 30-hours free childcare if you’re eligible for both.
For example:
-
a full-time place with 30 hours and tax-free childcare would cost £246.21 per week.
A non-funded full day would cost £66.40 per week.
Childcare voucher schemes are now closed to new entrants however we are still able to accept vouchers from most providers
if you are already registered with a scheme.
Some parents may be eligible for up to 85% of their childcare costs via universal credits for childcare.
Funding is available towards childcare costs for all children from the term after their 3rd birthday. Funding may also be
available from 9 months based on certain criteria.
The Early Years Entitlement of 15 or 30 hours per week term time may be used from 9 months old. The funded sessions are
delivered all year round which equates to 11 hours and 10 mins or 22 hours 20 mins funded hours per week; all other hours
attended will be charged at the published rate.
The funding covers education provision only, so parents are asked to pay a meals and extras surcharge to cover meals,
refreshments, consumables, and towards our enhanced activity program, of which sessions are delivered on changing days
to maximise access, as the funding does not cover this. Unfunded fees are inclusive of the Enhanced Booking Charge
(meals/snacks/consumables and enhanced activities). This is separated out for the purpose of funding hours only.
For Woodlands this is as below:
Meals and Snacks £1.40
Consumables 70p
Enhanced activities £1.40
Total £3.50 per hour.
If you find yourself unable or unwilling to pay this, please let the nursery know so we can make alternative arrangements.
Further information on how to apply for funding will be provided before the term your child first becomes eligible
If accessing funding, please ensure you have also read our fees and funding packs which are sent out each term. All funding
places require a completed funding form to enable us to submit funding for you from the local authority. These are sent out
via Funding Loop and issued each term.
